Here's a little bit of information that we've uncovered about Andy...

Andrew Thomas Dunlop was born in Glasgow on March 16th, 1972. He grew up in a suburb called Lenzie, which is about 15 miles north of Glasgow.

As a child, Andy took 2 years of piano lessons. At the age of 7, he decided to take up the guitar.

He loved bands like AC/DC, Saxon, Status Quo, and the Dead Kennedys. These influences lead Andy to start a band called "The Flumps". This band was "a heads-down thrash band with ponytails". He then gave up speed metal for music that resembled Simple Minds.

The Flumps eventually became "Running Red" and after placing an ad for a drummer, Neil Primrose joined the band. They had a female singer, thinking they would be the next Starship. The band changed it's name to Glass Onion.

Andy met Dougie Payne at the Glasgow School of Art where he was studying jewelry making. They got together one night and became fast friends over a few pints and talking about the Monkees.

The female singer of Glass Onion was sacked, and Andy's friend from Glasgow School of Art, Franny Healy, replaced her. Later, they asked Dougie to join on bass, and Travis were born.

Andy has written 4 songs for Travis, "You don't know what I'm like" is a hidden track on the US version of The Invisible Band, as well as a b-side to the single for "Sing" CD2. His next track, "Ancient Train" appeared on the 2nd CD of the "Side" single.  "Central Station" appears on the single for "Flowers in the Window" on CD2.  This track was written by Andy, and sung by Fran.  Also written by Andy and sung by Fran is the amazing song "The Sea".  You will find this song on CD2 of the Re-Offender single.  The song was recorded in Scotland and features the sound of the sea on the Scottish coastline in the background.

Andy has become well known and well loved for his incredible energy on stage during their live shows. He's also known on the Travis Tour Bus for being "Smelly and Sleepy".

After much touring in support of The Man Who and then The Invisible Band, Travis were on a forced break due to the injury of drummer Neil Primrose.  During that break, on July 27th, 2002 Andy wed his girlfriend  of 2 years, Jo Monaghan, at Dundas Castle in South Queensferry, Scotland.

On December 1st, 2005, Andy and Jo welcomed the birth of their first child together. They named him Dylan Green Dunlop.

Currently, Travis are back in the studio working on their follow up to 12 Memories.
